VidScribe Chrome Extension

This privacy policy explains how the VidScribe Chrome extension ("the Extension") handles user data.

Data Collection

The Extension collects and processes the following data:

• Video Data: Video titles and descriptions are fetched from your channel to enable editing functionality.
• Google Authentication: OAuth tokens are used to authenticate with the API. These tokens are managed by Chrome's identity API.
• Local Storage: User preferences and settings are stored locally in your browser.
• License Key: If you purchase a Pro license, your license key is stored locally and verified with Gumroad's API.

Data Usage

Your data is used solely for the following purposes:

• Displaying your videos for selection and editing
• Updating video descriptions when you choose to save changes
• Saving your preferences locally
• Verifying Pro license status

Data Sharing

We do NOT:

• Collect personal information
• Store your data on external servers
• Share your data with third parties
• Use your data for advertising
• Track your browsing activity

Third-Party Services

The Extension communicates with:

• Google APIs: To fetch and update your video data (governed by Google's Privacy Policy)
• Gumroad API: To verify Pro license keys only (governed by Gumroad's Privacy Policy)

Data Security

All data processing occurs locally in your browser. Authentication is handled securely through Google's OAuth 2.0 protocol. No sensitive data is transmitted to or stored on our servers.

Your Rights

You can:

• Revoke access by removing the extension from Chrome
• Clear stored data through Chrome's extension settings
• Revoke API access at Google Account Permissions
